The easy answer is YES!

At Restore, we believe that many people feel alone and insignificant. We provide a space to help you experience connection, practice authenticity, and gain tools to help you reengage your life, bravely living out your purpose. Whether you are living with anxiety, addiction, or brokenness in your relationships, counseling helps to undo the loneliness we all feel, and bring us into places of wholeness and freedom.

What a great question!! When we refer to counseling, we are referring to Masters and Doctorate level clinicians who are either in the process of getting licensed by the state or are currently already licensed to practice psychotherapy modalities. These clinicians have taken all of the necessary steps to be recognized by the state of Missouri/Iowa/Michigan as a licensed practitioner. When we refer to mentoring, Restorative Mentors/Emotional Health Professionals are professionals who have specific experience and training as it relates to anxiety, depression, trauma informed care, postpartum support, transformational growth, spiritual guidance, life transitions, college and career coaching, etc. While they are not Licensed Professional Counselors, our Restorative Mentors/Emotional Health Professionals provide the care and direction that many need during difficult seasons of life.
With our counselors and mentors you will experience high quality care and a person who is able to engage your story with dignity and expertise.

The very first session is a little different than any other session because we have to get a lot of information/paperwork from you to discuss how we keep your information and records confidential.
This first session is more like an in-depth consultation, where we go into more detail about what to expect from counseling or mentoring, and we will both take some time to get to know each other and learn what has led you to where you are now. We also will talk about your goals for our work together, and you are able to ask us any questions you may have about the therapy process or what it’s like working with us.

We completely understand that things come up, therefore have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If something were to come up and you are not able to make it to your appointment, please call 573-217-6588 to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice of your appointment, you will be charged your whole session fee.

We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. For counseling, we can provide you with a SuperBill to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you intend to submit to insurance, please NOTIFY us asap so that we can ensure proper documentation from the beginning. We encourage clients to speak with their insurance company directly about reimbursement options.
Mentoring appointments cannot be submitted to insurance.
-
We accept cash and all major credit cards. Health Savings Account (HSA) cards can be used for any appointment, counseling or mentoring.

The Restore Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the dedicated home for scholarship funds. It's supported by donors, community partners, and Restore Counseling, which donates 10% of every appointment fee on each client's behalf.
You'll see a note on your invoices, billing statements, and reminders that reads: Thank you for choosing Restore. On your behalf, Restore will donate 10% of your appointment fee to The Restore Foundation. This costs you nothing extra and there's nothing to opt into. Every client is part of it.
Because the Foundation receives a share of every appointment, support grows alongside the practice. And as a nonprofit, it can receive tax-deductible gifts and grants that the practice couldn't accept on its own. That means scholarships can now extend to retreats and intensives, not just counseling and mentoring.
Visit TheRestoreFoundation.org to learn more, apply for a scholarship, or see upcoming retreats and events.

Rates vary by clinician and by the type of care you're looking for, so the best way to find out is to reach out. Call us at (573) 217-6588 or email admin@restorecounseling.org and we'll walk you through it. A Good Faith Estimate of expected costs is available as well. If cost is a concern, please see the question below about scholarships through The Restore Foundation.
-
If paying our rates would mean choosing between care and other essential expenses, you can apply for a scholarship through The Restore Foundation. Scholarships are available across everything we offer, including counseling, mentoring, intensives, and retreats.
The application asks you to indicate the rate that fits your circumstances and how long you'd like to be at that rate. Funds aren't guaranteed, but there are generous donors who want to see you get the care you're looking for. When your scholarship period ends, you can reapply or continue at the standard rate.
Applying changes nothing about your care, your clinician, or your place on the schedule.

Of Course! Thank you for asking! There are two ways to do this.
Sponsor through The Restore Foundation. Reach out to Info@TheRestoreFoundation.org and the Foundation will take it from there. Gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
Purchase a Restore Gift Card. Gift cards are purchased directly from Restore Counseling Services and applied to a specific person's invoice. This is a gift to the practice rather than a donation to the Foundation, so it is not tax-deductible. Click here to purchase a Restore Counseling gift card.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, mentoring, and coaching. Feeling safe to speak freely, knowing what you share will stay in the room, is essential for building trust and fostering real growth.
All therapists and mentors are legally and ethically committed to maintaining your confidentiality. However, there are a few important exceptions:
If there is reason to believe you may harm yourself or someone else, we may need to break confidentiality to ensure safety.
If coordination with another provider (such as your doctor or psychiatrist) would support your care, we will always request your written permission before sharing or gathering any information.
In rare cases, we may be required to disclose information by law, such as when responding to a court order or subpoena.
Your privacy matters deeply to us, and we are committed to protecting it with care and integrity.

Your safety matters to us, and there is help available right now.
If you or your child is experiencing active suicidal thoughts, ideations, or self-harming behaviors, please reach out immediately:
Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7
Text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line
Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
These situations call for a higher level of care than we are able to provide at Restore Counseling Services, and we want you to get support right away.
