Ali Hettinger

MS, LPC

My name is Ali Hettinger, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Columbia, Missouri. I am originally from just outside of Houston, Texas, but have been living in the Midwest for a good long while now. I entered into the counseling world after seeing and feeling first-hand the pain, hurt, and frustration that takes place simply from living in this world. After getting my Masters in Mental Health Counseling, I have been able to learn and practice in a variety of settings including children's homes, college campuses, with both children and adult in private-practice setting, overseas and state-side worker care, and with international clients from varying religious backgrounds. I am certified and trained in AEDP (level 3), Lifespan Integration, Psychodrama, and other experiential trauma modalities. I am currently in engaged in Somatic Experiencing training as well.

When I am not counseling, I enjoy traveling, practicing 90's songs on the ukulele, chasing after new adventures with my family, pushing myself in running, and doing anything where I can be outside. I also love learning and get very excited about new research in terms of psychology, behavior, and social patterns. Things that I am not very good at include downhill skiing, tetherball, and geography.

Jacob Wilhelm

LPC

My name is Jacob Wilhelm, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Missouri.  I have a wife, Emily, and we have two little daughters, which means you will more than likely see me with a coffee in my hand or on my desk. We live in Michigan, so I will only be seeing people virtually. I am licensed in both Missouri and Michigan.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, a post-bacc in Biology, and my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. I am trained in the areas of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (Level 1 AEDP therapist). Outside of those trainings, I have worked in a couple of different neuroscience research labs looking at: cognition, sleep, emotional and social development.

While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I led a campus ministry and had the privilege to meet thousands of students. I was able to have conversations and develop meaningful, lasting relationships. It was those relationships that sparked a desire to want to pursue counseling; I would have these developing relationships and the question that I would continually hold onto is, “How can I love like Jesus?”. When I look at interactions that Jesus had, he was able to meet the person, or groups of people, where they were at and he would authentically connect. That example, I believe, is at the heart of counseling. How can I be there with this person? How can I connect in a way that brings fullness and authenticity? What if living our authentic self helps us connect deeper to others?

So, that is a little about me. Some other fun tidbits about me: I love books, I love reading, and I love science and philosophy. I taught myself to play 3 instruments and working on a fourth. I’m a St. Louis Cardinals fan and my wife is a Chicago Cubs fan, and I’m working really hard to develop a treasure trove of dad jokes.

Allison Griffin

PLPC, MA

My name is Allison Griffin, and I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor with Restore Counseling Services. I graduated from Missouri Valley College with my Master of Arts in Community Counseling and I am currently pursuing my license to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I entered the counseling profession after experiencing mental health issues first-hand. Through my own struggles, I have seen God work through many areas of my life. I love sharing skills I have learned through my personal journey with others from a Christian and scientific-based perspective.

My husband and I live on my family’s farm near Boonville, Missouri. In my free time, I love to help out on the farm, plant flowers, play with my dogs, and spend time with my family. I frequently volunteer at my Church’s community garden, where we donate our produce to local food pantries. Just as I love to see God nourish people physically, I feel privileged to witness God bring mental nourishment and healing to His children.

China Hill-LoBue

Restorative Mentor, MS

My name is China Hill-LoBue, and I am a mentor at Restore Counseling. I live with my husband and pug in Columbia, MO, but I was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where I started helping others with academic, career, and social/emotional issues. I hold a Master’s in Counseling with a school focus, and I am also a certified Mindfulness and Meditation teacher.

My previous experiences have allowed me to work with individuals from different ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. I struggled with anxiety caused by dysfunctional relationships. That’s how I learned first-hand how to let go of the things I can’t control and navigate relationships with loving boundaries through a deeper relationship with God. Now, I help others better manage their relationships, and I also guide clients to identify and release ineffective patterns in their behavior and thought-life that no longer serve them. I enjoy supporting others through a Christ-centered lens.

Outside my role as mentor, I am a friend, aunt, sister, granddaughter, and wife. Most days you can find me watching documentaries, walking my dog, or having both meaningful and hilarious conversations with family and friends.

Kate Boltz

Restorative Mentor, CCTSI

Hi, my name is Kate Boltz, and I live in the Nashville, TN, area.  I worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 7 years before coming to join the team at Restore Counseling Services. In addition to providing clinical care, I had the honor and privilege of walking alongside families in times of celebration, uncertainty, and grief.  I am passionate about helping individuals come to a better understanding of themselves and experience genuine connection with others. I have special interest in the areas of perinatal mental health and worker care, on and off of the mission field.

I love a great cup of coffee with a good friend. I enjoy playing with my kids, spending time with my friends and family, playing cards and board games, sitting around a fire, and traveling with my husband both domestically and abroad. In my free time, I volunteer with the youth at our church, and I care deeply about investing in the next generation.

Janna Segovia

Restorative Mentor

My name is Janna Segovia, and I am a mentor at Restore Counseling. Though I have a degree in Communications and am slowly working on a Masters of Divinity, it is my affinity for people that brings me to Restore. I have spent the majority of my life traveling, which has given me a deep value for listening to and understanding others. I know the importance of being “seen”.

As a Christian, I believe we are created with the capacity and propensity for Life. I want to be with people in their journey, creating space for hope, healing, and holistic health.

On a personal note, I enjoy the arts, but don’t really make time for them. My time is spent investing in our family and friends and the spaces we fill. Consequently, the basement is my nemesis. I enjoy studying and do not enjoy bland food. I wish we could live outside, but so far that hasn’t proven practical. When I’m quiet, I find myself contemplating God, humanity, and the integration of both.

Hey! My name is Diego Huaman, and I’m a mentor at Restore Counseling. I'm originally from Columbia, MO, and my passions for people and music have taken me all over the world. I graduated from Berklee College of Music and worked for several years in Los Angeles making records and enjoying the west coast outdoors. While collaborating with many gifted artists, I learned that some of the best music was captured when artists felt totally comfortable to be vulnerable. Through the collaborative process of music, I discovered my love for psychology and knowing people.

I experienced firsthand just how powerful this practice was in helping me process my own pain and story. Like the woman at the well, I ran back to all my friends and couldn’t help but share what I had learned, loving every moment I’d get the chance to walk with another.

If I'm not out somewhere exploring the world or camping, you can find me reading books on spirituality, psychology, and adventure. I love playing the saxophone and guitar, finding the best coffee shop in any town I’m in, hiking off-leash trails with my dog Yoshi, and having deep meaningful conversations about God and life.

Lauren Carson

Care Coordinator, Executive Administrator

My name is Lauren Carson, and I am the Care Coordinator and Executive Administrator for Restore Counseling Services. I work remotely with my two kiddos at home, so you may hear some little voices from time to time when calling Restore. I am so thankful to be a part of this team and honored to walk alongside the people we connect with.

Throughout my life, I have been blessed with many opportunities to travel abroad and experience life around the world. In addition to traveling, I love to spend my free time with close friends and family, going for walks, playing volleyball, playing cards or board games, drinking coffee, and baking!
